Light Thief!

Here’s an interesting story from a UK customer...be sure to watch the video (click image above):

“I was recently on a week long diving trip to Browning Pass, British Columbia.  On the very last dive at Hussar Point, a Giant Pacific Octopus took a fancy to my UK eLED Plus light as I was photographing a nudibranch.  All of the sudden, I felt a tug...then another.  I thought my light was caught on something.  I looked down and was shocked to see the GPO had his tentacles wrapped around my light.  GPOs are curious fellows, so at first, I thought he was just investigating it.  But, he kept a death grip on it as my wife started to photograph and video the encounter.

The GPO never let go and only pulled harder and harder.  I unclipped the lanyard from my BC as I started to get worried about him deciding to "investigate" my mask or my regulator.  He quickly swept it under his body and that was the last I saw of it.  Running low on air and no deco time, my wife and I had to surface.  The thief is now the most popular GPO on the reef with a fancy new light.  The boat captain promised to return in a week or so to drop off some fresh batteries for the happy guy.
