UK International’s protective cases have long been relied upon to protect valuable equipment under the most difficult conditions. Now the company has designed two new collections of cases; the UltraCase™ collection, and a new line of 12 extra large injection-molded cases under the brand name LoadoutCase™. These two new collections of cases were first introduced to the Dive trade at the most recent DEMA Show.

 

“We saw a clear void in the protective case market which is why we’ve devoted the product development and engineering time into developing these two new innovative case lines,” said Mike Fattori, Director of Sales and Marketing of the US Outdoor Recreation & Government division for the company. ”Based on the initial reaction from dealers at the show we have delivered something to the market that is truly unique and in demand as initial orders far exceeded our expectations.”

 

The introduction of the new UltraCase™ line marks a significant strategic move for the company. UK has invested considerable resources to engineer and design its entire case line of 7 different styles; each can be purchased with or without foam inserts. An important feature of the UltraCase line is the new auto-venting latch (patent pending) which automatically equalizes the pressure differential inside the case when opened and seals the case against gas exchange when closed. In addition, the cam action mechanism of the latch allows for easy operation, yet secure closure of the cases. Other innovative features include a reinforced full width hinge, external stiffening ribs and an oversized rubber padded folding handle. A hollow silicone rubber main seal o-ring resists taking a "set" with age and seals out water, dust, rain, mud, humidity, sand, salt, air, ozone, carbon monoxide, and many corrosive gases. All cases can be submerged in water to at least 1 meter. Loops for padlock or security seals are also included.
 
Made out of UKtekmat 1.0™, UK's proprietary non-corroding engineering grade ABS plastic blend the new UltraCases are virtually indestructible and incredibly durable. With its tough exterior, rigid walls, stainless steel hinge pins and hollow silicone rubber O-ring seal, the UltraCase™ is impact resistant and hard to dent and scratch. UltraCases will even float if dropped overboard.

The LoadoutCase™ design started with customer requests for an overall weight reduction in protective cases. The new line is made of a new proprietary polypropylene resin blend, UKtekmat 2.0™. To guarantee an unmatched level of durability in the new cases, UK International surveyed the material strength sold by the competition. Working with resin makers and meticulously evaluating the material, led to UK’s creation of UKtekmat 2.0™; a material which brings up to a 20 percent reduction in weight from the company’s previous product lines and a significant increase in impact resistance over its competitors. As one of the original injection molded case makers, UK plans to extend its distribution into larger OEM, military and consumer markets with these incredibly rugged water and dust resistant cases.
