UK International Releases C8 eLED® Plus

The First High-Intensity Dive Light That Runs Brighter Underwater

Underwater Kinetics (UK International) continues to advance LED technology with the introduction of a new light that burns brighter under water than it does on land.

Featuring a proprietary ‘through the lens' heat sink that was developed by UK, the new C8 eLED® Plus offers scuba divers a high-intensity dive light that runs brighter underwater and maintains constant brightness throughout the battery’s life.

“UK International has a mission to accelerate the development of technology in LED lighting, and our new C8 eLED® Plus, featuring a new through the lens heat sink, is our latest example of that commitment,” said Mike Fattori, Director of Sales and Marketing of the US Outdoor Recreation & Government division for the company. “For every one-degree drop in temperature, our new C8 eLED® Plus increases its lumen output by 2 percent. When immersed in water, heat is drained from the LEDs- improving the lumen rating of the unit by 10 to 15 percent. By using the ocean as an immense heat sink, UK’s through-the-lens heat sink technology ensures that the high-flux LEDs run at optimum temperature and provide consistent illumination while diving”, said Fattori.

The C8 eLED® Plus patent pending design combines two intense LEDs into one narrow, incredibly even 10-watt beam pattern free of uneven spots and ‘beam borders’. Unlike conventional xenon filament lamp lights that grow dim with use, UK’s unique eLED® circuitry maintains constant brightness for the life of the batteries. When longer burn times are needed, the user can switch to low power mode to extend the life of its eight alkaline C batteries.

The C8 eLED® Plus has UK’s signature feature- the dovetail handle slot, which is molded into the case for balancing the location of optional pistol or lantern style grips. Other features include a lamp that will not burn out and a lock in the switch mechanism which prevents accidental activation during travel.

Offering more than twice the output of its predecessor (a maximum of 170 lumens), the C8 eLED® Plus weighs in at a mere 39 ounces, runs up to ten hours, and is depth rated to 500 feet.

Product Specs:
  • High intensity 10-watt twin LED module with propriety conductive cooling element shines brighter underwater
  • Unique optical design unites two high intensity LEDs into one beam with twice the intensity
  • eLED® circuitry insures constant brightness throughout the battery life
  • Switch between full and half power to extend battery life
  • Depth rated to 500 feet
  • Weighs 39 ounces/ 12 grams
  • US MSRP of $169.99
